I have recently (last night) viewed the fourth installment of the Pirates series. I loved it. To be honest, though, im kind of tired of all the sequels. I saw that they're making at least two more? I think that's ridiculous.
In my opinion, the first movie had a solid ending and really didn't NEED a sequel. BUT out of those i DID enjoy the third one the most.
This one, On Stranger Tides, was definitely better than the second one, but didn't top the third one or the first one, which has been the best so far.
I did miss Kira Knightly, but Penelope Cruz did a fantastic job as the leading lady. Both are sexy in their own way, although very different kinds of sexy. Lol.
And another issue, what of Will Turner's son? they didn't address this issue at all in this film. maybe that will be addressed in one of the next two? hm...Idk.

Hand to my heart, when I saw the thread title, I thought you were talking about this movie.
What? Stop staring at me like that. I've seen it, it's tastefully done. Except for all the nasty filthy hardcore sex, I mean.
So yeah. The Johnny Depp films. I didn't actually watch them until after the third (and at the time final) movie had come out on DVD. I had a big ol' marathon viewing. They were pretty fun! They're not exactly high art or anything -- they're not even in The Best of Johnny Depp's wheelhouse -- but as harmless popcorn flicks go, you could do a lot worse.
[That's right, Michael Bay. I'm looking you right in the eye and accusing your Transformer movies of being a lot worse. Crush me if you can, you filthy rich bastard.]
I'm looking forward to On Stranger Tides, but I probably won't see it until DVD, just like the rest of the films. In the meantime, I've got The Curse of the Black Spot to tide me over.

haha. I love the first Pirates movie. I LIKE the rest. well, now this fourth one i have say i love, just not as much as the first. So many attractive people in ONE film(Kira Knightly, Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Jack Davenport, and now Penelope Cruz)! and i freaking LOVE Geoffrey Rush!!!
